Senior Trainer

Tammy is a part-time Senior Trainer and has been working for TCC close to 2 years.

She has worked both privately with TCC clients on a range of behavioural issues and also worked in a group environment as an Instructor. She also owns and operates her own Dog Training and Exercise Business full time which gives her additional hands on experience with a plethora of dogs, ranging in age, temperament, size and breed.

Tammy has always had a passion for all animals growing up in the heart of NZ but her specific interest in dogs grew exponentially as she started to explore a range of behaviour modification techniques which she utilised on her own dogs. Tammy had inherently acquired the ‘art’ of dog training through her father who had trained power breeds as hunting dogs for many years. However as she broadened her horizons through self-learning, she soon realised the importance of incorporating ‘science’ in her regime. This led her to enrol in the NDTF Dog Training and Behaviour Course in 2012.

At this point, she met Lisa and David Haywood and was given an opportunity to join the TCC team as an Assistant Trainer. Through persistence and hard work, she was able to move into a Senior Trainer position with the guidance and mentorship of Lisa and David. Working as both a Trainer and Instructor for TCC has further crystalized her passion for dogs and her love of helping pet owners achieve their goals.

Behaviour modification techniques’ pertaining to aggression is her special interest, however not limited to. Tammy is the proud owner of Blaise, the black GSD, who was previously abandoned, but is now currently adopted by Tammy and her family through the 3R rescue shelter. Tammy is optimistic about her future in the industry and is eager to expand her current skill set and knowledge base in years to come.
